Dec 27 (Reuters) – U.S. oil refiners on Tuesday had been working feverishly to renew operations at a dozen services knocked offline by a vacation deep freeze, a restoration that in some circumstances will stretch into January.
An Arctic blast despatched temperatures nicely beneath freezing and led to energy, instrumentation and steam losses at services alongside the U.S. Gulf Coast. The affected crops course of about 3.58 million barrels of oil per day, delivering about 20% of U.S. motor fuels.
